Hi, I’m Saer!
(They/He)
My favorite thing about being a therapist is watching folks grow more comfortable living fully as themselves. So often we become disconnected from ourselves, stuck in patterns, and far from the life we want to live. I’ve seen how therapy can help folks connect more deeply with who they are and grow in truly magical ways. In the therapy office, I try to create a space that is warm, connected, and safe. I enjoy bringing laughter and gentle challenges into our work together, working actively with my clients to dare them to step outside of their comfort zones.
I specialize in treating clients dealing with eating disorders and body image distress. I’ve spent years working in inpatient, residential, PHP and IOP treatment for eating disorders. In that role, I’ve also worked with clients facing anxiety, mood disorders, relationship challenges, and identity. I particularly love working with clients exploring gender identity and sexuality, and how that intersects with their relationship with their bodies.
I am psychodynamically trained, which means that I enjoy working to understand and change the patterns that have shaped you and the ones you might be trapped in. I am also systems oriented, which means I consider how larger systems impact us, such as our class, race, gender, sexuality, family system, and even the current sociocultural moment. Practically, I also bring in tools from CBT and DBT, if they are helpful and welcome.
Outside of the office, I love to spend time with my two adorable cats, my partner, and my collection of sci-fi and historical fiction books.
